ASCENSION

Ascension leads the audience to the top of Mount Royal along Olmsted Road, starting from the Georges-Étienne Cartier Monument and ending at the Cross at the top of the “Mountain”.

Through their earphones, as they walk listeners will hear multiple voices, both major and minor, from history: Maisonneuve, Drapeau, Olmsted, a jogger, a maid from the 19th century, and Choinière himself.

Dreams and desire for eternity, posterity, and fame haunt each character, and  invite listeners to reflect upon their own lives.
